特殊的训练

Throughout their experience in 参加后备役军官训练军团, cadets have the ability to experience numerous training opportunities in both 参加后备役军官训练军团 itself, 或者更大的军队. Some examples of training opportunities are highlighted below:

基本的营

Basic camp is a 领导 training experience held during the summer after either freshman or sophomore year. 基本的营 is available for cadets who have never had any prior military experience. Held in 为t Knox 肯塔基州, 基本的营 allows cadets to get up to speed with peers who have been in the program longer (if they joined during the semester), giving them more opportunities to participate and lead throughout campus-based training. 基础营期间, cadets will learn the essentials of military bearing and thinking, 领导, 小单位战术, and fieldcraft skills to become competant during the academic year. 

先进的营

(为merly known as the Leader Development Assessment Course) 先进的营 is held the summer after junior year in 为t Knox, 肯塔基州. 先进的营 is a final assessment of the 领导 abilities of MSIII level cadets, testing what they have learned throughout their experience in 参加后备役军官训练军团 within both garrison and field environments. Every MSIII cadet in the nation at some point comes to 为t Knox for evaluation. During the several weeks of training, cadets spend time leading their peers through missions, are evaluated on skills such as marksmanship and critical thinking, and receive an overall grade outcome that helps determine officer branch selections after graduation. 

航空学校

在本宁堡进行, 乔治亚州, the Basic Airborne Course instructs students how to successfully jump out of and parachute from a plane. The Basic Airborne Course is a three week school, and students are awarded the Army Basic Parachutist Badge upon completing five succesful jumps. Cadets who graduate from 航空学校 join the elite few in the Army who have gone the extra step to become Airborne.

 

 

空中突击学校

Often called "the Army's ten toughest days," the Air Assault Course is a ten day course that instructs students how to conduct Air Assault operations, slingload操作, 吊具检验, 探路者操作, and how to rappel both off a tower and from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. The 空中突击学校 is centrally located in 为t Campbell, 肯塔基州, however there are numerous Air Assault Courses throughout the United States, including schools located at 为t Drum, 胡德堡基地, 和本宁堡. Cadets can be sent to any of these locations to earn the Air Assault Badge. 

 

Cadet Troop 领导 Training (CTLT)

CTLT allows MSIII level cadets to shadow a platoon leader in the active army for three weeks, following their unit in both the field and garrison environments, and assisting in duties that a platoon leader is responsible for. This gives cadets perspective on what life will be like for a second lieutenant in the active Army. Cadets are actually placed in charge of soldiers along with the lieutenant that they are following, allowing cadets to sharpen their 领导 skills and put them into practice before commissioning. 

Cultural Understanding and Learning Program (CULP) 

CULP is a study-abroad program offered by 参加后备役军官训练军团 that allows cadets to live in a foreign country with a team of other cadets and cadre, training with foreign militaries and conducting humanitarian missions (usually around a month long). CULP missions can be directed to numerous countries around the world, spanning six continents and different countries with various levels of development. CULP can be done by MSI-MSIII level cadets.
